Boerne Buddies & a Jack-o-lantern

Jim was out of town for the annual "Dudes' Weekend" in Galveston, and Brian was off in the Colorado wilderness, so Courtney and sweet Matty came to Houston to visit.

Kirby and Matty had a great time hanging out, and it was great for me to get some girl time!! It was so fun seeing them interact. There is such a huge difference between boys and girls! Matthew was crawling all over the place and seemed so grown up next to Kirby. It was neat to see what Kirby will be doing in just a few weeks. I am still amazed at how quickly these babies change!!!!

Matthew couldn't get enough of himself! He just grinned and yelled into the mirror. Precious!!! I can't get enough of those big brown eye and LONG eyelashes either!!

Kirby says, "Watch your hand, there, Matty!!"

Sweet baby kisses...

Matthew forgot that girls are yucky!!

Matthew was so cute playing with all of the toys. I can't believe how quickly the jealousy bug sets in...he wanted whatever Kirby was playing with.

When Jim got home on Sunday, we sat out on the back porch and carved a pumpkin and enjoyed the perfect weather.

Such a work of art!!

halloween pjs

Thanks to Annie, Nana, and my favorite store, Target (you know how to pronounce it!!), I've been stylin' in my crib lately with these festive jommies.

I've decided that it's not cool to lay down anymore...it's way more fun to stand and sit with Mommy and Daddy's help. I can't wait until I can do it on my own!! Whenever they lay me down on the floor or in my swing, I strain my neck and kick my legs up. Oh, and...

I

LOVE

Pumpkin Patch Pics

What kind of parents would we be if we didn't take advantage of the pumpkin patch photo op?

We also hung out with the Hills for a bit on Saturday - Hadley was very sweet to the "baby" as she calls Kirby. Notice the wet spot on Kirby's dress...she loves to suck on her clothes!

Our visit to the beach on Sunday to visit Granddaddy was great! Kirby thought he was pretty funny! It's soooo neat to see them together.

Fever, infections, & our new obsessions

Kirby woke up Satuday morning with a fever and felt just crummy all weekend long. We spent the weekend giving her Tylenol, luke warm baths and cool wash rags. It turns out she has a bladder infection, poor thing! After three hours in the doctors office, a blood test, catheter, and shot, Kirby is on the road to recovery!!!

Kirby is obsessed with the television and herself. She does whatever she can to keep an eye on the tv, and just squeals when she sees herself in the mirror. Sunday night she watched intently as I scrolled through the 247 pictures of her that are currently on our camera. Her eyes got huge and she just grinned from ear to ear when she saw each picture. Evidently she thinks she's as cute as we do!!

Mommy has a newfound obsession with Oreos...no particular kind - ALL Oreos - regular, double stuffed, minis, cakesters - you name it, I've stuffed my face with them. I have never been a sweets person, so I don't know where this has come from. I polished off nearly an entire bag by myself this week...I wonder why I can't fit into my clothes??? Yes - I ate them all by myself.

Happy October!

Kirby was 4 months old yesterday! Time is flying and we are having so much fun!

Her smile is getting bigger by the day, and she LOVES to put anything she can in her mouth. Kirby's still working hard on getting that thumb in there...she's almost got it!

The rice cereal is going well, I guess. She loves it, which is great, but last night she would eat a whole spoonful and then when I took the spoon away to refill it, she screamed and screamed until I put the spoon back in her mouth. This went on and on until we gave up and fed her a bottle. Patience is obviously something we're going to have to work on!

Check out the belly!

Mmmmmm...this dress is yummy

Kirbs took a little cat nap while we were getting ready to go to the park

These days Kirby is all about standing - she's such a big girl!

Nana and Grandpa came in town to visit this weekend - Kirby loves her Nana and her ballerina mice pj's (thanks Cindy Knocke)!
