Kirby's a fan
Kirby had a big week and weekend - a trip to the zoo with Maria and a trip to Beaumont to visit Annie and Don Don. They were so sweet to take a snotty baby who can't breathe and therefore can't sleep!! Meanwhile, Jim and I bleached all the grout and cleaned the carpets in our house - crazy fun, I know.
Of course Kirby's favorite animal at the zoo was the monkey...

Does she look smart or what?

I think it's safe to say the Dairy Queen Baby Cone was a hit!

The carpet fan was an even bigger hit, though!

3 steps!
Kirby took 3 big, great, grown-up, all-by-herself, unassisted steps this evening! She was standing at the foot of my bed and walked right to me - she just went for it and she was so proud of herself. I don't think she's a "walker" just yet, but I can officially say that she walked! YAY Kirbs...you're SOOOO BIG!
Go Go GO!!
Kirby has decided that she loves her push toy and runs all around the house with it yelling, "Go - Go - Go!!" She's not quite ready to let go yet, but I don't think it will be long! When she's not pushing the toy, she will grab your pointer fingers and slide out of your lap so she can lead you all over the house. Don't you love the strategically placed green ball??

Despite the yucky reaction Kirby had to the MMR shot she got a couple of weeks ago, we had a great time in SA visiting PaPa for Father's Day. Fever, body rashes and new surroundings are never a good combo! Kirby went swimming with Daddy and had lots of fun playing with all of her cousins.

She's One! (12 things for 12 months)
1. I want a tutu, too.

2. Maria's hard work teaching Kirby to blow out her candles paid off - she did it all by herself!

3. Kirby's cupcake/cookies were as yummy as they looked!

4. One year olds face forward! As you can see, Kirby can't hide her enthusiasm.

5. Kirby is all about dropping things on the floor...right after she yells, "Uh-eeew"
6. Still fired up about the car.

7. The Grays are now a formula-free house!
8. Kirby's 12 month check-up went great today. She is 30 3/4 inches long and weighs 20 lb 90z. Her poor little legs are sore from her shots.
9. Kirby is "SO BIG" Whenever anyone says "so big" she throws her arms up in the air. If she's busy doing something, she'll just raise one hand :)

10. Can we say Daddy's girl?

11. Best 1 year old present? Tissue paper.

12. We love our one year old SO much!!
