9 months!

Maggie and William, you are 9 months old and so precious!  You are both getting so much personality, and I swear you get cuter and cuter by the day.  Here are your 9 month stats:

Maggie:  17 lbs. (50th %) & 26 1/4 inches (15th %)
William: 18 lbs. 4 oz. (15th %) & 29 inches (75th %)

William

Who would have thought with those chunk-a-lunk legs that you would only be in the 15th % for weight?!?

You da-dee and di-di and ba-ba all day long.  You've got so much to say!  Still waiting on Ma-ma, though!

You are on the verge of crawling - you rock back and forth on your knees and have moved your arms and knees in sync a couple of paces at a time, but you haven't taken off quite yet.  Sweetheart, that is just fine with me - if you want to wait a couple of more months to decide to be mobile, I would be all for it!

While we haven't let you actually drink any, you L-O-V-E Miller Lite bottles.  You can spot them from across a room and seem to know that you're supposed to drink from them.  You can be sobbing and will calm down immediately when we put one in front of you, only to start right back up once we take it away!  If there weren't laws about underage drinking, we could make big bucks making commercials for Miller!

You like to put your finger in any hole you can find - the air holes on Maggie's helmet, ears, noses, bathtub jets.  Wet Willies have taken on a whole new meaning at our house.

You can find the lights and fans when we ask you where they are.

You sleep on your tummy with your knees under you and your hiney in the air.

Maggie

Mags, you are a jabber jaws, too!  Between you, William, and Kirby, someone is always talking!  I can't wait to be able to understand all the very important things you are telling me!

You've only done this for Maria, but you give her great "Ojitos"

Instead of crying when we're not feeding you fast enough, you lean forward in the high chair, stare at us and bang your hands on the tray.

You can hold a toy or book over your face to play "peep-eye" with us.

You can't stand William's fascination with your helmet and ears.

You've got 2 teeth (top, front, right side) that are on the verge of breaking through.  Any day now! You're going to be so cute with toofers!!

We love you so much and can't wait to see what next month brings!!

Easter

What a great Easter...great weather, great family, great times!!  We all loved having Nana and Papa hang out with us for the weekend.   Kirby was especially excited to have Nana at her house!  She led Pam all over the house all weekend long, chit chatting all the way.

This was the best group shot we got this weekend...it cracks me up though.  William is losing it and Maggie's like, "dude, what's wrong?"
When did Kirby get so grown up?

We loved being in Houston and being able to attend our church for Easter.  Easter is one of my favorite services ever, and it was awesome at St. Martin's this year.  We attempted "Big Church" instead of the Family Table Service - we made it through the service, but we definitely belong in kids' church!!

Maggie started fussing at the beginning of the service, so I hopped up and literally ran into the Narthex and almost into Pres. Bush.  I'm sure Secret Service would have kept that from actually happening :)  While I was calming Maggie down, someone tapped Jim on the shoulder.  Thinking that it was an usher was going to ask him if the 2 seats next to him were open, he was ready to say, "I just need one of these spots for my wife."  It was, however, Barbara, so he gave my seat away!!!  They started to sit down and then realized they would be right next to a litter of kiddos and kept on moving!   Oh well, good to see them anyway.

Rodeo

Our little animal lover was in hog heaven at the rodeo!  Kirby rode the ponies - twice, a camel, and lots of rides...saw chicks, turkeys, bunnies, pigs, sheep, & cows!  It was so fun to spend the day with her!  I look forward to one on one dates with Maggie and William one day, too!
Kirby was just giddy on the ponies - she petted Dolly's mane and talked to her the whole time!

Meet Nick, the camel.  Notice the guys t-shirt.  I almost peed in my pants I laughed so hard.

She was fearless on the rides!

We loved our Kirby-time!!!

Eight months!

Number 2 and Number 3 are 8 months!!
the signs aren't really working anymore!

M &W:
Y'all are the most laid back babies I've ever met - you are all grins 98% of the time, and we're sorry that since there are 2 of you, you don't get credit for being as sweet and patient and chilled as you are!

You've been sleeping like champs - sometimes 12 1/2 hours!  We put you down at 7 or 7:30 and you usually don't make a peep until 7 in the morning.   Thank you SO much for that!

You "play" with each other...by play, I mean take each others toys and pacifiers - you already only want what the other one is playing with. Oh, and Kirby only wants what you are playing with!

You are not spitting up nearly as much as you used to - your pedi said by 9 months you should grow out of it - whooohoooo!  Our cleaning bill will get significantly smaller when that day comes!!

You love fruits and veggies, but you're not too patient when we have to feed both of you at once.

You both reach your arms out for us to pick you up - melts my heart every time!

William...

You are close to crawling - you get up on all fours, rock back and forth for a while and then lay flat out on the floor like you've just run a marathon.  You scoot around in circles and can move yourself backwards.

You're kind of sort of waving - we aren't totally sure it's not a coincidence that you move your fingers when we wave at you, but it happens often enough that we're going to go with it!

We think that you've GOT to have some teeth coming in - you are a droolin' fool...but you've been that way for the last 4 months, so who knows!

It's next to impossible to change your diaper these days - you flip over so fast which has caused some really big messes

William, there just aren't that many nicknames for you, buddy.  The only one that has stuck is William Tell.  Someone called you Will the other day, and it was just weird.  How crazy is it that I think Will is weird and Peekie Peep Eyes isn't?

Maggie...

You couldn't care less that you have a helmet on your head!

You finally started rolling over - now you're a little steam roller.

You have the cutest buddha belly I've ever seen.

You smoke William  every time you drink a bottle - we hope that's not a sign of things to come in your college years!

You are also known as Mags, Maggersly, Mooperville, Mag Pie Jones, Sister Sue

Kirby Clause...don't want to leave anyone out!!!

You are acting so grown up these days - you "read" by sounding out words based on the picture under the word, so the word "bunny" is RRRR-A-Bit, and "puppy" is Duh-O-Guh.  You're so proud of yourself (and so are we!)  You get us to sound out things and then tell us, "Good job!"

When we ask you how you slept or how school was or how swimming was you reply, "Oh, it was GRRRREAT!"

You still love to put things in bags/boxes/purses - some of the things we've found - pajamas in the trash can, Cam's Aggie ring in a diaper box, wash rags in Jim's sock drawer, balls in the kitchen cabinets...and others we haven't - my engagement ring, for example.  We've turned our house upside down.

You LOVE Sid the Science Kid.

You have decided that you want a pet.  You tell us all the time that you "sure wish you could have a cat" and you seem to think that Molly is coming back to live at our house.  We offered to take you to get a fish so that Jump could have a friend to swim with and you told us, "I think I don't want a fish - I think I want a puppy!"

You want you wear princess dresses and tutus everyday - you are SO fancy!

Your baby dolls have specific names - Megan, Maggie, William, and Ella.  I have no idea where the name Ella came from, but I love it!!

You won't eat anything for meals but peanut butter and honey sandwiches and chicken nuggets and french fries.  You of course always find room for goldfish, grapes, strawberries, and pretzels.

Helmet, what helmet?

Mags did great with her helmet today!  She will be easing into helmet headedness over this week, and the couple of hours she wore it today weren't too bad (easy for me to say, right?).  She is definitely happier with it off, but she tolerated it well.  Her poor head got all sweaty while she wore it, though - they promise this will get better as she acclimates to wearing it.  The worst part of the whole thing is that we can't kiss her head when she's wearing it - I never realized how often I kiss and rub the babies' heads until today.

Since shopping makes everything better, we stopped by Doodles on the way home and got some head bands with big bows to go around the helmet.  The thought of being able to wear bows made Maggie more comfortable with the whole helmet situation - I could tell.

I think we're looking at wearing it for 4 months which means by her 1st birthday, Maggie will have the most perfect head ever!!

Great Days in SA

We had such a great time in San Antonio last weekend!  The kids loved getting so much attention from Nana and Papa!

Kirby has been asking to go back all week.  I can't decide if it's Nana and Papa she's been missing or Jack, though.  She is absolutely in LOVE with Jack.   Kirby has been an animal lover since day 1, but seeing her with Jack was something else.  She talked to him just like he was a person, scratched his ears, back & tummy all weekend long.  Jack was in heaven.

"Come on Jack, follow me."  "Where's Jack?"  "I sure wish I could have a dog like that."  "Do you think Jack wants a bone?

When Pam's cousin visited for Christmas, he brought her a rocking chair that had belonged to her father.  How neat that his great grandkids can enjoy it now!

As you can see Kirby was thrilled to get her picture taken.  Can this girl can give the evil eye or what?

Here are some smiles!!

On another note, we found out today that Maggie will be sporting a new accessory in a couple of weeks.  She'll be a helmet head for a few months to get rid of the flat spot on the back of her head.   Unfortunately, these helmets are NOT cute, but I think it will be fine - this kid would look cute in a paper sack. (biased?  maybe.)  I've decided we need to go all out with this new look, though - there's no hiding a helmet on your head, so I'm thinking some big bows and bedazzling may be in order!
