Rodeo!!

Julie, Hadley, Kirby and I headed to the Rodeo on Friday to meet all of the animals. We saw goats and zebras and cows and chicks and bunnies and pigs and ponies! Kirby LOVED them and tried to grab their fur and poke their eyes. I think she would have let them eat out of her hands if she hadn't wanted to eat the feed herself!!

Hadley wasn't quite as sure about the animals, but of course she did have to worry about what "The Baby" was doing, so she didn't have time for much else!

There was a little barnyard concert that mesmerized the girls. Hadley danced for us and showed off her new snapping ability - she holds her fingers together and moves her arm up and down...it's precious!

"Here Comes Kirby Cotton-tail..."

Disclaimer: I fully realize that by posting the pictures above that I am starting a war with my husband. I know that he will get me back when I least expect it. However, everytime he makes a complete fool of himself to make Kirby smile (which happens all the time), my heart just melts. Jim adores Kirby, and seeing him with her makes me fall in love with him all over again, so I had to share them with you!

9 things for 9 months!

Kirby's been busy this month!! It seems like she's grown up so much in the last 4 weeks.

1. It's getting harder and harder to take these monthly pictures...baby girl won't sit still!!

2. She loves books. When we read them to her, she helps by turning the pages one at a time...only after she's studied each page and only with her left hand.

3. Kirby has a tooth! It's on top, and she freaks out when we mess with her mouth, so we haven't seen it too many times, but it's there!!

4. Kirby said her first real word! When you ask her where the light is, she points to it and says, "Ight." We recorded it, but being the technical geniuses that we are can't get it onto our computer.

5. Annie and DonDon let Kirby taste a lemon. Not that you can tell from this picture, but they said she loved it and kept going back for more!

6. Kirby crawled! She's been thinking about it for the last couple of weeks, but she actually did it today!!

7. Kirby loves being outside - she loves looking at the birds and the trees. We have been taking advantage of all of the gorgeous weather.

8. Kirby's hair is OUT OF CONTROL.

9. Kirby likes her new bubbles, but Molly LOVES them. She chases and barks at and bites the bubbles. Kirby just stares at her with this confused look on her face. It's hysterical.

I like...

...to eat, eat, eat apples and bananas...well, maybe just bananas...and only if you give me a big piece to gum. Don't try giving me a bite size piece or mashed bananas, becaue I will gag and probably throw up on you! (just ask my Daddy)

...Molly. We are great friends now that I give her everything Mommy and Daddy give me to eat.

...swinging with Uncle Michael!

...smiling for the camera

Cute as a little baby owl...

Annie and DonDon have a new resident...this guy has camped out in the wisteria outside their back door. I'm glad he's small or I'd be really worried about Molly every time she goes outside in Beaumont!

SA

We LOVE San Antonio! Kirby had a blast with Nana and Grandpa (or Papa as Hadley has renamed him), and I'm pretty sure Nana was in heaven every time Kirby said "Nananana" and held her arms out for Nana to hold her. (I love this picture...it's a "framer" for sure!!)

We had a great time at our play date on Saturday, too! I love catching up with old friends and meeting new ones! Can't wait to do it again next time we're in town!

Allison: Jim, is Kirby standing yet?
Jim: Oh, no - she can't stand yet.
Allison: well she can now!
YAY Kirbs...you're getting so big! Thanks, Ryan, for showing her how it's done!!

Matthew totally blinked first

Why is it that the boys always end up in one room and the girls in the other?

There was only one negative about the trip...Megan developed "Man" arms and hands. You'll be glad to know that the condition has corrected itself.

A note for Nana

Kirby's been practicing her "NaNaNaNaNa's" so she'll be extra good at saying it when she sees you on Friday! Have a great day tomorrow!
