The Best Christmas EVER! (and longest post ever)

Kirby was right when she said we were going to have the Best Christmas Ever! We had so much from with her this year. She gets truly excited about everything, so the lights and decorations and presents and music were extra special.

From Build a Bear...

...to baking...

...and everything in between, Kirby had a ball!

She was a good girl during most of it, too! (Number One...yes, that's his name, told Santa so!) This little elf is amazing - I wish he could travel to our house from the North Pole all year long!  Kirby was throwing a fit about something one day, and we told her that #1 was watching, so she ran and hid behind the chair.  Whenever we mentioned his name, she would get really still and cut her eyes in his direction.  We are, however, going to have to remind him that when he comes next year he'll have to remember not to fly back to the EXACT same spot two nights in a row.  He had a bad habit of doing that this year.

Sorry for that little detour!  Christmas in Beaumont was great.  The kids managed to make it through a TWO HOUR service on Christmas Eve.  When we got back to the house, we set out cookies for Santa and green beans and blueberries for the reindeer.  Evidently, reindeer LOVE blueberries.  I was not aware of that.

Kirby was almost as excited to find out what Santa brought as she was to stay in her bed so she could have her pappy.  When we finally got her out of bed, she found the teddy bear she asked Santa for, puppets, and a beautiful princess dress waiting for her!  She opened one more present and completely lost interest, so all of the presents that my parents got her are still wrapped - we're saving them for her birthday!!

Before the rest of us opened presents, we sang Happy Birthday and had coffee cake for Jesus' birthday.

The fairy princess cat made an appearance at Christmas dinner.  One "POOF" of her wand puts you into a deep sleep!

So did the snow pricess cowgirl!

Maggie and William had fun, too! William was and still is in heaven in an exersaucer, preferably the one that bounces, so he was thrilled when Santa left him a Jumperoo!!  I am pretty sure he's going to bounce right out of it one day!

Mags just soaked up all the attention while William jumped.

The best part by far, though, this Christmas season was how excited Kirby was about Baby Jesus.  We loaded her play table with nativities, and the Baby Jesus figurines traveled many miles around our house. He even accompanied her to Kroger and Target. She sang Happy Birthday to Him and still pretends that her baby dolls are Jesus, she's Mary, and Jim is Josep (the missing H is not a typo!).  My biggest prayer for her is that as she grows she will ALWAYS be that excited about our Savior!

It was a perfect Christmas - and Kirby's enthusiasm made is very special. She is a lucky girl to be surrounded by SO many that are teaching her about and showing her the love of Christ. She will be the best teacher for Maggie and William, too. They are all such blessings!
